New virus controls 620 thousand mobile phones China's users


Malware is sending paid SMS-messages from mobile devices victims.

Experts of the company NQ Mobile discovered a new malicious program, which seeks to phone users. Virus called «Bill Shocker» already infected device 620 thousand Chinese users, and is a threat to vulnerable Android phones around the world.

The program is implemented in the most popular applications in China, including Tencent QQ Messenger and Sohu News. Infected version of the application in the future subject to third-party online stores and other third parties.


Bill Shocker is downloaded to the user's device in the background, without arousing suspicion from the owner of the phone. The virus gains access to the contact list, online activity, recent calls, and text messages. Malware uses a "device-zombies" to send text messages, profit advertisers.

The company NQ Mobile has alerted the Chinese mobile operators about the threat in order to prevent its further spread.
