Launch date for its next-generation BlackBerry 10 platform


Company Research in Motion has announced that the new operating system for smartphones BlackBerry, released January 30, 2013.

BlackBerry 10 presentations will be held simultaneously in several countries of the world. They talk about the representatives of RIM OS and provide the first smartphone under its control. It is expected that there will be two devices: one full-touch, and the second with a hardware keyboard.

BlackBerry smartphones now 10 are in the testing phase. In tests of devices involved more than fifty mobile operators. Several prototype devices RIM has already shown at conferences for developers.

BlackBerry 10 is based on a system of QNX, the rights to which RIM acquired in 2010. Speaking about the new system, the CEO Thorsten Heins, said: "In developing BlackBerry 10, we set out to create a truly unique mobile interface that adapts to your needs."

It was planned that BlackBerry 10 will be released in 2012, but later moved RIM release in the first quarter of 2013. According to the service StatCounter, BlackBerry OS share of the market over the past two years was reduced to three times - from 16.5% to 5.4%.
