Mobile threats - the main trend in 2012


Segement threats to mobile devices have become the fastest growing this year, and, of course, is the main trend of the year.

According to global statistics in 2012, the number of unique malware detected only for the Android OS has grown by 17 times (!) Compared with 2011. Everyone knows that the Android because of its openness and high incidence of the most fertile ground for attacks and malicious users more interested in other mobile platforms. We have documented that the most active regions on the prevalence of such threats are Russia, China and Iran.

- Try to avoid installing applications on the device, from third parties, or downloaded from an untrusted source, instead use Google Play - Official app store for Google Android;

- Stay away from pirated software. Popular commercial applications are often cracked and they embedded malicious code, then distribute it to the application in the file-sharing networks;

- Please note that use public Wi-Fi network is not a good idea. Android has a search function of public networks and automatically connect to them. Better to use Wi-Fi networks that are protected with a strong password and encryption support.
