Management of viewing of presentations of LibreOffice by means of the Android-smartphone

Impress Remote - Management of viewing of presentations of LibreOffice by means of the Android-smartphone

One of the most interesting innovations, presented in a recent update of office equipment LibreOffice 4.0.1, was a function Impress Remote.

This feature allows you to use a smartphone based on the Android platform as a remote control when watching presentations LibreOffice Impress, running on a PC or laptop. Unfortunately, until recently, this great functionality, users can evaluate only some of the common Linux-distributions. However, a couple days ago, developers of Document Foundation reported sales Impress Remote support for all major operating systems, including Windows and OS X.

Recall that for using the Impress Remote you need to install on your Android-powered smartphone or tablet mobile app of the same name. The program uses the Bluetooth to connect to a computer and provides a convenient interface to control playback of presentations.

Run the application LibreOffice Impress on your desktop or laptop, open your presentation, and you can view the slides on the small screen of mobile devices. Impress Remote also allows you to use the hardware volume keys or natural gestures to navigate to the next or previous image, study attached to the slide notes and comments, etc. Special mention deserves the ability to display a blank screen and view the contents of the presentation in the form of sketches. The latter option provides the ability to quickly jump to the desired slide.

The mobile client is distributed free of charge and available for download from the online store Google Play Store. You can install LibreOffice Impress Remote on any portable device based on the operating system Android 2.3 and later versions.
