Microsoft will end support Windows Phone 7.8 and Windows Phone 8

Microsoft has named the date of the termination of support Windows Phone 7.8 and Windows Phone 8

Microsoft Corp. today released data on the time to completion of technical support to its current flagship operating system. According to a report in the System Support Microsoft, while the main technical support system Windows Phone 7.8 Mango ends September 9, 2014, while Windows Phone 8 earlier - July 8, 2014.

The corporation states that support such dates were due to the previously stated policy of the major branches of technical support for mobile systems and a half years after their release. The company also said that many Windows Phone users to receive updates for the OS does not directly but through a mobile operator, so for certain customers lifetime OS may end later.

Note that many Western people have criticized such a short life cycle of the system: many users buy Windows Phone-smartphone at a subsidized scheme with a two year contract. Such a system does not look focused on the consumer, since on the one hand the operator positions the device as a solution for use for at least two years, and Microsoft supports running a half years.

The only way out is to allow for upgrading from Windows Phone 8 to a later version of the OS, which should appear at the time. However, with Windows Phone 7 and 7.5, the corporation made no provision for direct upgrade without buying a new device.
